SAIC is actively recruiting for top, cleared talent to support a wide array of technical requirements for the Quick Reaction Capabilities (QRC) Branch within the Army’s Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate (I2WD) in response to an emerging GSA Alliant solicitation. Though some requirements may begin sooner, it is anticipated that requirements’ Period of Performance will begin on/around 1 OCT ’18.

The Hardware Engineer

- Maintains and integrates Military Intelligence collection systems, computers and networks into Military All Terrain Vehicles (MATV). Conducts research, design, development, and testing of information HF, VHF, UHF, and microwave frequency receivers, processing and storage equipment, computer peripherals, antennas, modulators, demodulators, multiplexers, demultiplexers, signal monitors, and direction finding associate with electronic warfare/intercept system.
- Maintains or modifies existing products, develops technical specifications for production, analyzes hardware configuration and processing solutions, and tests hardware conformance to specifications.
- Work may encompass one or several areas of engineering including electronic design, mechanical design, reliability engineering or other related fields as well as Operating automatic and special test equipment to perform Wow and Flutter Test, Harmonic Distortion Test, Wave Ratio Measurement, DC Resistant, Impedance Mismatches, Reflectometry Test and other distortion test to isolate faults and takes corrective action to assure equipment fidelity.
- Supervises lower grade personnel in the performance of their duties and assists in conducting formal and informal SOJT programs.
- Additionally, responsible for establishing and conducting testing routines; developing or executing project plans, budgets, and schedules, and documentation of work and results.
- He/She will receive only general/nominal direction from their supervisor, and will be expected to utilize their existing technical knowledge and exercise independent discretion and judgment to fabricate, terminate, and test cables of varying types and kinds using standard test equipment.
- Candidate will use in-process quality controls on all cables prior to turning them over for QA.
- May provide guidance to less experienced engineering personnel.

- Candidate must be available for and willing to work extended hours on a routine basis. Additional hours over weekends are occasionally required and should be expected.


- Clearance Level Must Currently Possess: TS/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
- Clearance Level To Obtain: TS/SCI with Poly


- Four (4) year degree from an accredited institution in a related discipline and five (5+) years of electronic systems maintenance, cable fabrication or related technical experience are required.
- High school diploma or GED and nine (9+) years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree requirement.

- Ability to verify and install cable labels and modify documentation (cable data sheets.)
- Experience in the following areas: terminating and installing many different types of cabling to include assembly, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, installation and checkout procedures.
- Ability to use hand tools (such as RJ-11, RJ-45, pin crimpers, wire strippers, pin extractors, and punch down tools, etc.) and use power tools and electronic test equipment.
