Shift Production Manager-TWMA-UKLO-TP-241017a

Connecting communities, cities, businesses and millions of people every day takes a global leader in rail technology. At Bombardier we never stand still. Join us and neither will you. If you’re motivated to make progress, you’ll find plenty of ways to learn and grow here. Whether you’re experiencing new ways of working, exploring new technologies or sharing knowledge with colleagues across countries, you can shape your own way ahead. In London, we have operations at 7 Fleet Maintenance depots. We supplied the vehicles for the Victoria Line, SSL, Dockland Light Railway and Croydon Tramlink and are now in the process of delivering the trains for the transformative Elizabeth line and LOTrain projects. As you help us to create faster, safer, greener journeys, you’ll help millions of people to go further too.

The opportunity

When you join Bombardier, you won’t just keep our fleet of Overground and underground trains running, you’ll be at the forefront of safety and excellence. That’s because we take the security of our passengers very seriously. As such, you’ll lead and coordinate a small team of Service Technicians in both planned and unplanned maintenance and component exchange programs, providing technical and planning support to the operator. Organising each day’s work, you will have the confidence to make agile decisions to keep the team busy and motivated.

Providing our expertise 24 hours a day, our teams provide a level of world-class technical support that just can’t be matched elsewhere – and you’ll be at the helm of this dynamic environment. Based at one of our London depots (Neasden, New Cross Gate, Northumberland Park, Willesden, Ealing Common, East Ham, Old Oak Common, Ilford or Seven Kings), you will therefore be exposed to cutting edge technology with the scope to ensure your team continue to thrive. Coaching and developing your staff, you’ll keep us inspired with your passion for meeting targets in a progressive workplace, and your meticulous organisational capabilities will ensure we keep the nation moving.

When you join the team at Bombardier, you can expect a level of career progression that’s quite exceptional. That’s because we’ll support you as you find your feet, and in turn we’ll expect you to support others as they develop their own skills. As such, you will have exceptional people management skills, with the ability to oversee all aspects of shift production. Embracing our stringent safety agenda, you’ll challenge the team if they’re not meeting your high standards, and your ability to prioritise maintenance activities and solve problems will keep our fleet on the rails. Ideally qualified to HND level or above in electrical/ electronic/ mechanical systems and engineering, or with a qualification to NVQ level 3 or above, you will ideally have experience of manual handling, COSHH, personal track safety, HSE and quality management system requirements. Working with the world’s finest trains, this role is just waiting for someone with outstanding people management skills to come in and make their mark.
