These positions will have varied shifts including 8:00AM to 4:30PM and 12:00PM to 8:30PM, with occasional weekend work. This is work which involves counseling individuals and providing therapeutic groups to maximize the independence and employability of persons coping with personal, social, and vocational difficulties that result from severe and persistent mental illness. Job duties include: coordinating activities for residents, assessing resident needs, and designing and implementing rehabilitation programs, in a mental health inpatient setting.


Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas to be considered for the position: Behavioral Sciences, Rehabilitation Sciences, Psychology, Counseling, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Music Education, Physical Education with course work Adaptive Physical Education, Vocational Education, Dance Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Leisure studies with course work in Therapeutic Recreation, or Horticulture Therapy.


Alternatively, applicants may have a bachelor’s degree in another social science or education with either a minor in Psychology or 18 hours of course work in mental health services. The Music Therapy specific position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an AMTA approved Music Therapy program.


To be considered for one of the Music Therapy positions available, you must be board certified or board-certification eligible, with the expectation of successful board certification within 1 year of employment.
