Software Engineer - Object oriented programming with C++ and Real-time Embeddedarchitectures

Software Development team member supporting an advanced prototype for a SAR (synthetic aperture radar) processing system. The prototype is being developed with a distributed processing approach on high performance COTS processing hardware. This person will be responsible for designing and implementing software in C++ for an embedded open-architecture radar processing system. He/she will work in a dynamic and collaborative environment to help shape and mature the overall system architecture and assess/optimize performance to meet specification requirements. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree required in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar technical field At least 5 years of professional experience with a BS degree (or 3 years professional experience with a MS degree), at least 2 years of which are experience in software engineering or software test engineering. Object oriented programming experience in C++, preferably within a real-time embedded system application Proficiency developing software within Linux/Unix environments Experience in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, unit test, integration, and verification Experience with configuration management tools, e.g. git, SVN, subversion, etc. Strong verbal and written communication skills Desired skills Experience developing software for distributed systems Experience with airborne radar systems Experience with digital signal processing algorithm and software development Proficiency in Linux system administration Proficiency with software optimization techniques Familiarity with virtualization technologies, i.e. virtual machines, containers As a leading technology innovation company, Lockheed Martin's vast team works with partners around the world to bring proven performance to our customers' toughest challenges.
