Motorgrader Operator

Assist the crew foreman to ensure that work is being performed on time and grade specifications in construction, such as highways, streets, airports, dikes, and temporary roads.        




1. Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all federal, state, local and company safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.        
2. Operates grader safely in successive passes over working area, observing grade stakes or hand signals of assisting workers        
3. Cut dirt or stone to specified grade        
4. Rough grading includes highway or site shoulders, slopes and ditches        
5. Ability to fine grade and cut blue tops at a productive pace        
6. Knowledge of plans and grades        
7. Ability to set and check grade        
8. Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned



1. Five or more years of experience in roadway and site construction    
2. Knowledge of and ability to operate grading equipment (ex. dozers, excavators, motor grader, scrapers and rollers)    
3. Basic knowledge of soil types, trenching and shoring   
4. Knowledge of traffic control standards   
5. Ability to get to and from job sites

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to:  Moving mechanical parts, extremes of hot and cold weather, and vibration        
The employee is frequently exposed to:  Fumes or airborne particles        
The employee is occasionally exposed to:  Wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
