Salary banding for this position is £15,501 - £16,501.  Successful candidates will be appointed to the lower level of the pay band if they have no relevant experience.


In exceptional circumstances where the candidate has relevant equivalent experience, this will be taken into consideration.


We are seeking Assistant Pathology Technicians within the Pathology Department located in Elphinstone, Tranent. We are recruiting experienced candidates, however, we also welcome candidates with no experience as full training will be given.


The Role

The Pathology department is key to providing technical support to the company working on animal organ tissues from all routine laboratory animal species used within the research environment.  Sampling, the treatment of animal organ tissue samples and animal organ tissue sample preparation will be a key aspect of this post.  You will be carrying out technical laboratory procedures within a fast paced, hard working environment.



  • A minimum of 5 standard grades (preferably, but not limited to English, Biology, Maths and any other Science subject)
  • Flexible approach to suit the needs of the business
  • Good manual dexterity and able to work with intricate animal organ tissue samples.

  • Ability to sustain bench working conditions for long periods of time
