Purpose and Scope

The purpose of the AC/DC Winder is stripping and rewinding AC/DC motors and assisting in the manufacture of coils.  The AC/DC winder is involved in all stages of testing the motors throughout the production process.  He/she must be able to work as a team member to ensure safety, production, quality and the meeting of deadlines. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities

The AC/DC Winder is responsible for stripping AC stators, AC rotors, DC frame and DC armatures.  He/she is also responsible for core prep, winding connections and lead replacement.  The associate is responsible for the continuous elimination of waste and implementing cycle time reduction.  He/she works with Customer Service, Purchasing, Quality, Engineering and other facility teams to ensure quality.  The AC/DC Winder will help drive a culture that places the highest value on workplace safety, housekeeping and environmental compliance.  He/she will be expected to develop relationships with peer groups that foster teamwork and unity of purpose.
