Position Summary

Based at our La Vergne, Tennessee commercial tire manufacturing facility, the Engineering Manager is responsible for providing engineering, maintenance, IT, power house, and facilities leadership such that the facility and its machinery and equipment can safely and efficiently meet the present and future needs of commercial tire production for the Bridgestone Americas Manufacturing Group.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for leading and managing all Engineering, Maintenance, IT, Power House, and Facilities activities in the plant; provides guidance and oversight to ensure that technical hourly and salary staff are recruited, hired, trained, and retained such that the plant can be successful; ensures that activities supporting plant operations are achieved within budget, and on schedule.
  • Responsible for providing leadership, advice, and technical expertise to Plant Management and staff as appropriate for daily plant operations success, mid- and long-term planning, budgeting, expansion, and all other activities necessary for the long-term viability of the plant.
  • Key Engineering activities include, but are not limited to, capital planning, new machinery design and installation, refurbishment/upgrades of existing machines and equipment, and kaizen activities requiring engineering expertise. 
  • Key Maintenance activities include continuous improvement of preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and troubleshooting/breakdown maintenance, as well as ongoing reductions in maintenance costs.
  • Key IT activities include IT infrastructure maintenance, and upgrades; daily management of IT systems, and long-term integration of IT infrastructure and component improvements.
Qualifications

Required:

  • BS Degree in Engineering

  • 4 Years Supervisory Experience

  • 3 Years Managing Engineering & Maintenance Organization 

  • 3 Years Staff Experience
