Advice for Employers and Recruiters
Done well, AI-powered hiring systems lead to candidates who are more interested in your roles
By Alexandra Novikava of Truck1.eu
I recently went through an AI-assisted hiring process before securing my current role as a Marketer at Truck1.eu. I have been skeptical of automated funnels after coming from a data-driven marketing background, but I now feel very different about AI in recruitment after going through such a well-designed candidate journey.
The very first part of my candidate experience was an interactive AI assessment which had me solve a mix of real-world marketing problems within a very short period of time. The user interface provided immediate clarity as to my performance following the submission of my candidate assessment. I knew exactly where I excelled with my logic, but was also able to see the areas where I came up short, right after clicking the “Submit” button and receiving my score as well, which means I was able to use these results to prepare for the “next” interview stage.
Also, once my score met the benchmark, my screen refreshed with an integrated calendar to schedule a live interview for the following day, which was pretty amazing. All of this transparency changed my perspective on how the organization valued my time, as opposed to only using technology to filter people out. Having such an efficient experience from the very beginning of my candidate journey was a major factor in my decision to accept the offer.
Truck1 uses many different enterprise SaaS solutions (i.e., specialized off-the-shelf options) instead of creating its own in-house applications for managing the candidate recruitment process as part of the recruiting pipeline. The architecture was designed using modern technologies and is based on a methodology designed to scale horizontally to accommodate huge volumes of applicants. This includes a modern applicant tracking system (ATS) with native API integrations with multiple external sources of AI-driven assessment engines as well as real-time calendar syncing capabilities. Thus, it is a licensed, multilevel stack that will effectively provide high-volume applicants in alignment with our approach to scalability for our own marketplace application.
