Pack Out Operator Job

Responsible for packing, labeling, and storing organic peroxides at desired production rate following established safety, environmental and operating procedures.

  • Prepares all containers (labels, caps, pallets) and packs organic peroxides in appropriate containers
  • Ensures labels have  the correct information (border color, SADT, weigh)
  • Wraps product pallets and stores in appropriate storage building using forklift.
  • Monitors alarm summaries for chill cabinet units at startup and anytime alarms go off.
  • Prepares equipment for normal maintenance, shutdown/startups and returning the equipment to service, consisting of clean up, lockout/tagout, blinding and pressure checking of equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and mitigates abnormal operating conditions affecting packout equipment;  coordinates troubleshooting activities with maintenance when needed
  • Assists the Incident Commander for all packout related emergencies by isolating equipment, containing releases, communicating with outside assistance, etc
  • Completes daily reports on pack-out volumes and maintains log entries to verify that all appropriate information is documented.
  • Reports unit mechanical/electrical problems and enters work orders in the system.
  • Provides input when needed during audits and investigations of unusual/undesirable events
  • Participates in shift safety discussions
  • Ensures appropriate housekeeping in units.
  • Supports Loss Control policy, AIMS, ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 management systems.
  • Will work a 12 hour rotating shift schedule; on call duties as required
  • Will climb ladders and work outside in all weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs and wear PPE including SCBA respirator


Qualifications / Experieince Required:

  • HS Diploma; AAS or Certified Operator certificate preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing, prefer chemical
  • Experience with automated equipment and forklifts preferred
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good verbal and written communications skills
  • Basic computer skills; basic math understanding
