Scope:

Identify district energy existing customer and sales opportunities, in both new and existing buildings within selected target markets, create a customer contact system within Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and design system to provide marketing campaigns for existing and potential customers including working with marketing team to develop and launch initial electronic marketing campaign.  

 

Major Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Business development research (bldg. owner, bldg. sq ft, current energy source, etc) primarily in  Minneapolis but may also include Omaha, Lincoln, Des Moines, etc. and enter data into CRM.
  • Establish system for identifying and tracking 3 levels of communication with top customers.
  • Update / Validation of contact info in CRM and report generation (eg Quarterly Business Review market information reports). 
  • Develop Emergency Response Communication system development within CRM.
  • Marketing campaign development from CRM and launch initial electronic marketing campaign in Minneapolis – includes working with marketing team and other location interns to develop the campaign.
  • Update customer sales histories and develop “comparable building consumption” reports

 

Job Experience, Abilities and Skills Required:

  • Must be classified as a Junior or above by the end of Spring 2018,  working toward and currently enrolled in a program in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or sales.  Will consider students in an Engineering discipline who have an interest in Marketing. 

  • Previous sales, marketing, real estate, property management or business development experience preferred.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills to be able to interact with customers.

  • Passion for research and investigation helpful, either using direct contact verbal skills or web based research tools.
  • Knowledge of general legal organizational structures including governmental, not for profit and for profit businesses as well as community and political implications of organizational structure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write communications to customers and give presentations appropriate for various internal organizational levels
  • Planning and organizational skills.
  • Uses discretion concerning confidential and sensitive company information
  • Team player; able to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Successful candidate should be strong user of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and internet search engines – knowledge of ACT! database or other CRM software helpful but not required.
  • Ability to travel across the city and potential travel to other NRG locations in the Midwest or to prospective cities for research and investigation.
  • Comfortable visiting mechanical work room locations to interact with customers.
