Job Summary

 

We are currently seeking a Material Handler for out plant operations in Terrell, Texas. If you have a desire to learn and grow in a team environment then Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope® could be a great place for your career.     

 

Basic Function


This position is responsible for transferring and delivering extruded aluminum throughout the facility. It is also responsible for quality inspection of the material.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Adherence to all safety protocol is a must
  • Operate an overhead crane to move material
  • Use a hand pallet jack and motorized pallet jack to move material
  • Verify labels on product to ensure material is moved to the correct location
  • Assist with general housekeeping in the work areas department
  • Regular and predictable attendance, ability to safely perform tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of your job

 

Requirements

 

  • One year of forklift experience required
  • One year of previous work experience in a warehouse, manufacturing or production facility, preferred
  • Must be able to learn material handling documentation process
  • Must be able to read, understand, and communicate information regarding paperwork and labels
  • Must be able to follow verbal and basic written instructions
  • Can work in a team environment
  • Must have flexible work availability to work "off shift" or overtime as required
  • Must be able to adapt to constant change

 

Physical Requirements

 

  • Must be able to constantly bend, squat, reach, lift, and push
  • Ability to push/pull/lift/carry 10-50 lbs constantly, 51-100 lbs frequently, and 75 lbs occasionally
  • Must be able to perform a two-person lift of boxes weighing up to 150 pounds
  • Stand and walk for entire shift on concrete, up to 12 hours
  • Ability to work in varied temperatures consistent with same climate conditions of the region (Heat, humidity, etc.)
  • Ability to visually inspect boxed aluminum for a quality and accurate shipment
  • Ability to wear all required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
