About the role:


Assist our Operations team in improving the quality of patient care by acquiring the best quality raw material for our medical devices. Manage the order process as well as execute the sourcing process to achieve maximum value through vendor cost and risk containment.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Interpret demand signal; then confirm, place and maintain purchase orders from approved vendors.
  • Identify approved vendors, including placing them on the AVL when necessary.
  • Ensure orders are placed with the applicable terms and conditions.
  • Identify areas of risk and place vendors under contract where necessary.
  • Identify and achieve cost savings opportunities from existing vendor base as well as identifying new vendor opportunities.
  • Support BSC corporate objectives through supplier identification, evaluation and ongoing management, including risk.
  • Ensure sourcing processes conform to and are conducted within applicable state and federal laws and regulations as well as all Boston Scientific business and ethical guidelines.
  • Identify and implement methods for improving supplier performance.
  • Promotes and maintains close working relationships within Purchasing and all external departments, seeking assistance to qualify new suppliers and new materials, to monitor costs and quality of purchased products and develop necessary reports.
  • Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports BSC’s Quality Policy, Quality System and the appropriate regulations for the area they support.
  • Must comply with requirements of ISO 14001 and BSC Environmental, Health and Safety standards and follow procedures and instructions related to these standards.


 What we're looking for in you:



  • Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education/work experience
  • MS Excel
  • Excellent communicator


Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAP or ERP systems knowledge preferred
  • Project management experience
  • Resin, plastics, or chemical buying experience
