Safety Intern (WI)

General Summary:

Under the direction of the Global EHS Manager, the Safety Intern will be responsible for providing support to the EHS team, supervision and production personnel. This position will provide leadership and coordination of the day-to-day safety function and requirements of specific assigned projects.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

General Responsibilities (but not limited to):

• Assist in compliance reviews, and other safety assessments to support overall safety culture

• Assist in the regulatory compliance of applicable laws and regulations

• Prepare applicable EHS reports as necessary

• Provide assistance and advice on EHS issues to make recommendations to management    personnel

• Participate in detailed incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis

• Promote incident prevention for the benefit of all Greenheck employees, visitors, vendors and contractors

• Assist in the development and presentation of relevant EHS projects

• Observe EHS P&P’s, wears all required safety equipment, encourage safe working practices, correct obvious hazards immediately

• Maintain positive and proactive relations with management and production personnel, as well as external customers

• Comply with all Greenheck’s procedures and policies

Facility Specific Responsibilities (but not limited to):

• Tour manufacturing facilities on a regular basis to establish EHS presence and provide support

• Prepare and attend weekly and monthly EHS meetings as required

• Assist in performing facility EHS compliance audits

• Develop knowledge and enforce regulatory compliance requirements (i.e. OSHA, EPA, etc.),

including Greenheck’s EHS P&P’s

• Assist in the development of Job Safety Analysis (JSA)

Job Qualifications:




  • Must possess a high school diploma and obtaining degree in EHS

• Interpersonal and communication skills

• Technical writing skills

• Willing to work various shifts as needed

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point

  • Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity
