Front Desk Customer Service

At Wegmans, our Service Desk employees are ambassadors of incredible customer service. In this area, you’ll be on the front line of ensuring customer satisfaction by striving to answer questions, solve problems and assist in a variety of ways. Customer (What We Believe)

  • Proactively greet customers, answer/triage phone calls, and partner with departments to ensure questions are answered and problems are resolved
  • Work with management to make exceptions when needed to meet customer needs
  • Assist Front End departments as necessary ensure customers are receiving efficient and incredible service

Results (What We Measure)

  • Perform tasks to support all department programs and services including refunds/exchanges, lottery, That’s T.H.E. Ticket, Shopper’s Club, etc.
  • Prioritize a variety of tasks while maintaining the appearance of the department and bottle return room
  • Properly handle products, use equipment, keep accurate logs and follow sanitation practices in accordance with food and human safety guidelines and Simplification 5S procedures

Work Environment

  • Work includes repetitive hand and arm movement, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, occasional bending, frequent reaching, along with continuous interaction with customers and co-workers in a fast-paced environment. Work may include cashier work occasionally. The average weight range of items lifted is 3-8 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of 40 pounds occasionally. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Customer service experience, preferably in a food service, grocery or retail setting
  • Experience working as a cashier and operating a cash register

  • Write and speak clearly, concisely and with tact in a variety of settings
