Forklift Operator 3rd Shift

Key Accountabilities

Operates a stand-up forklift to safely transport raw ingredients, finished product, materials and equipment to the appropriate locations inside warehouse, freezer and trucks/trailers. 

Responsibilities

  • Operates stand-up forklift to move ingredients/product from trucks, shipping & receiving docks, and various stock and storage locations.
  • Responsible for loading the mixing platform with raw ingredients to be used for daily production of par bake cookies, frozen dough and cinnamon smear for melts.
  • Verifies lot code numbers, product type and quantity of each load moved using scanning gun.
  • Moves trailers in and out of loading area for out and inbound loads.
  • Keeps stock tracking records and other simple records of quantities of items moved, storage locations and daily work performed.
  • Moves stock, pallets and other items manually as required.
  • Provides assistance with the overall maintenance of the warehouse environment.
  • Follows rules and regulations to ensure food safety, quality, and legality.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships.

 

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Education: Spanish and/or /English literacy, elementary
  • 1-2 Years Stand Up forklift experience, preferred
  • In-house Forklift Certification, HACCP & GMP training (in-house)

This position requires employee to have adequate communicating and observational skills, including seeing, speaking and hearing, due to the operation of various types of moving equipment used in the bakery.  These requirements are for the safety of the employee and co-workers.  These requirements are also necessary for collecting and distributing information to staff, and communicating with co-workers.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and color vision.
