Requisition Summary

Provide procurement and supervisory leadership for Aftermarket Purchasing Commodity Managers.  The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills and is ambitious, self-managing, well organized and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.  Said candidate works well with counterparts in Marketing, Materials and OE Purchasing and is confident in representing Aftermarket Purchasing to all levels of management.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train and and develop Commodity Managers in support of negotiations, contract administration and Aftermarket Purchasing goal achievement.
  • Take the negotiating lead in large and challenging contracts or cost increase requests.
  • Work with management to determine group goals relating to cost savings, lead-time reduction, on-time delivery and program support.
  • Track Aftermarket Purchasing cost management goals.
  • Lead initiatives to improve processes that improve Commodity Manager efficiency in managing RFQs, rebates and PO discrepancies.
  • Provide back-up for Director of Purchasing and represent Aftermarket Purchasing in key presentations to management.

Qualifications & Skills

  •  Five or more years of purchasing, related and / or PACCAR experience
  • Strong negotiation skills, ability to facilitate global supplier interface.
  • Supervisory experience, team oriented, proven management abilities, positive leadership qualities.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, strong interpersonal skills.
  • Creative, quality and results-driven work ethic.
  • Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, & presentation.

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Purchasing, Finance, Engineering or related field.
  • Masters or MBA a plus
