Sr. Scrum Master – Agile Lead

As an IT Sr. Scrum Master, you will be a servant leader for multiple solution teams using agile methodology with a hands-on approach to implement an enterprise platform PLM Siemens Teamcenter. You will also be responsible to guides delivery teams in developing iterative development techniques. He/she acts as a subject matter expert in Agile and Lean, teaching teams how to work in an Agile way and helping team members solve problems as they arise. This role will have a great opportunity to partner with peers across different IT orgs to build the Agile & DevOps roadmap and set strategic goals for maturity and transformation.


Requirements and Responsibilities


Sr. Scrum Master

  • Work with multiple teams following various Software Development Lifecycle Methodologies like Scrum, ScrumBan and Kanban.
  • Facilitate various scrum ceremonies such as daily standup, backlog refinement, sprint planning, demo, retrospective and scrum of scrums.
  • Work closely with the product owner in defining a well-defined product backlog and help in prioritizing backlog items based on the business value.
  • Work closely with the team daily and make sure that the team is delivering value or Potentially Shippable Product Increment PSPI at the end of each sprint/release cadence.
  • Responsible for identifying the team impediments and resolving them immediately.
  • Protect the team from external Influence. Escalate the organizational impediments to the management.
  • Responsible for using JIRA for planning, managing sprints and tracking issues effectively. Also, able to maintain the JIRA by creating releases and program portfolio.
  • Responsible for using various collaboration tools like SharePoint, Confluence, OneNote, Skype and Outlook.
  • Help the teams in tracking the progress using various tools like Sprint burndown chart, Velocity chart, control chart and cumulative flow diagrams.
  • Responsible for helping the teams in creating user stories, acceptance criteria, definition of Done and making sure all the stories meet the INVEST Criteria. Responsible for using various estimation and prioritization techniques like planning poker
  • Guide and coach the Scrum Team and organization on how to use Agile practices and principles to deliver high quality products to our customers. Facilitate discussions, decision making, and conflict resolution.
  • Help the teams in becoming self-organizing, self-managing and cross functional teams by coaching the industry best practices and advanced engineering practices.
  • Foster communication with partner functions


Agile Lead

  • Serves as subject matter expert
  • Partner/Lead Agile & DevOps transformation
  • Ensuring communication from the PMO and transformation activities is passed along to Teams, Scrum Masters, and Solution Area Leadership.
  • Helping facilitate team and transformation metrics gathering
  • Coach/Facilitates the Agility Health Radar Assessment for multiple teams.
  • Support the new Agile teams with all Sprint 0 activities to insure proper behaviors and processes are followed
  • Partner with PMO to align and establish Agile and Lean standards/strategy for organizational adoption of Agile
  • In partnership with ALM/Automation resources, enable best practices in DevOps, Build/Release Management, Test Driven Development, Test Automation with teams
  • Leads and facilitates the Agile/DevOps Community of Practice for the organization

Required criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • Experience working with and mentoring teams in the use of Agile practices
  • Experience in multiple roles as part of an Agile team
  • Expert-level Scrum Master skills
  • Experience working on large-scale projects
  • Practical experience with Agile and Lean principles and organizational change management


Preferred Certification/skills 

  • Certified Scrum Master
  • Agile Coaching Certification
  • Certified Agility Health Facilitator
  • Kanban Management Professional I/II
  • Certified Scrum Practitioner
  • Knowledge of Jira, SharePoint and confluence
