United States Houston: Benefits Specialist

Key Responsibilities
- Under general supervision, collects data to prepare the Request for Proposal (RFP) for marketing.
- Partners in review of annual enrollment communication materials, and assist in the coordination of and support of annual enrollment and health fairs.
- Collaborates with procurement in contract reviews, collecting of experience data and census, 5500 information, and other data.
- Researches, analyzes, and evaluates benefit plan data and escalated issues.
- Participates in coordination and implementation of new benefits program.
- Responsible for providing administrative assistance to the Global Benefits Manager in connection with the maintenance and communication of Halliburton’s benefits programs.
Primary responsibilities include
- Explaining health and benefits plan features and options to employees as required, including plan provisions and related policies
- Reviewing monthly and weekly eligibility file reports and premium payments
- Updating employee records in SAP for payroll purposes
- Preparing and/or coordinates employee communications related to health and benefits plans/programs
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires an undergraduate degree in human resources management, business administration (or)
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in employee benefits design, analysis, and compliance and PPACA.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred knowledge of SAP or similar payroll system.
- Self-driven individual who is able to manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities
- Collaborative team player who can work across functions
- Analytical thinker who can draw sound business conclusions from multiple sources of information
- Medium to advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel
