The College of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases, is looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow in the laboratory of Dr. George Deepe. This position will support the University’s mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff and all our activities.


The candidate must have training in immunology, microbiology, and/or molecular genetics. The position requires experience in handling and working with mouse tissues. They should be able to perform cell culture, real time reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, silencing of genes by siRNA or other means, and isolate and prepare phagocytes from mice and humans. They should be able to analyze data on metal content of cells and metal flux. The candidate will be expected to design and execute their own studies, analyze their data, write manuscripts related to their data, and prepare presentations for local, national and international meetings.


Position Qualification:   Ph.D degree; 1 year postdoctoral work, and have at least 3 years of experience in fungal pathogenesis and/or fungal immunology.
