Job Description


Develops, codes, tests and debugs new highly complex software solutions or enhancements to existing software in a maintenance capacity. Recognized as technical expert by internal and external peers. Provides direction for entire project or a project team. Applies advanced skills and concepts to oversee large, complex projects. May assist in training less experienced software development staff. Has excellent understanding of business application. Works with technical staff to understand problems with software and resolve them. Resolves customer complaints with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements. May assist in development of software technical documentation. Demonstrates software. Demonstrates broad knowledge of technical solutions. Designs and codes complex applications using advanced technology. May create optimization programs to resolve problems. May design and build prototype applications. May oversee product development. Leads design and coding of applications using routine and/or advanced technology.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Convert business requirements into an architecture solution that serves as a blueprint for the development team.
  • Work with Enterprise architecture, engineering, governance to ensure operational excellence in the product.
  • Lead technical design discussions and hands-on solution implementation. Should be able to split the time between development and architect responsibilities.
  • Prototype various technologies and architectures to identify best solutions to given problems.
  • Document the architectural changes that are being incorporated. 
  • Proactively understands business domain knowledge. Understand the existing application code and provide high level estimates based on project scope.
  • Serve as a source of technical expertise to project teams and mentor and help direct other engineers.
  • Participate with multiple Agile (Scrum) development teams.
  • Assist in change and release management protocols. Provide input and support to developing IT roadmaps.
  • Keep a critical eye on new design specifications and raise quality, performance or architectural concerns.
  • Evaluate stability, compatibility, scalability, interoperability, and performance of software products.
  • Own the end responsibility for application architecture and stability.
  • Must be able to act quickly under pressure to investigate and resolve real-time issues.
  • Guide QA/Dev to standardize tools for code coverage, unit and integration tests.

Job Requirements


EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or equivalent.


  • 5+ years of Architecture experience and 10+ years of Java/J2EE development experience.
  • 3+ years of Spring, Spring Boot; 1+ years of Java 8 experience. 
  • Proficient Object oriented programming and J2EE/Enterprise design Patterns.
  • Strong understanding of full life-cycle development and Agile Methodology.
  • Solid Foundation of architecture models, database structures and networking.
  • Experience with debugging and maintaining any of the following: JBoss, Tomcat, WebLogic, Websphere.
  • Experience with SOAP and RESTful Web Services Development.
  • Good communication and team working skills.


  • Experience with Business Rules Engine.
  • Knowledge of Message Oriented Middleware
