Job Overview

 

 

Sealed Air Corporation (SEE), worldwide leader in packaging solutions, is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our R&D Applications, Development and Support group in Charlotte, NC as an Applications Engineer. The applicant will be responsible for engaging with customer equipment development teams, field support and sales personnel, customer service, and supply chain to ensure existing products continue to meet the high standards of Sealed Air Corporation. This talented individual will be engaged with strategic accounts to utilize the depth of SEE products to solve critical problems. The candidate will work on one or more complex tasks to support R&D efforts in the preparation, testing and evaluations of new materials. This may include conducting a broad variety of chemical laboratory and/or pilot plant laboratory procedures or operations.

 

 

 

Responsibilities

 

 

 

 

· Provide technical solutions to customers, external vendors, field representatives, and the broader Research & Development organization through on-site customer support, and visits to other Sealed Air facilities

· Produce high-quality data and analytics in a state of the art laboratory

· Provide strategic ideas that drive the enhancement of current product lines or the development of new product lines to drive increased profit based on a detailed understanding of materials, equipment, and customer operations

· Work with Project Managers in supporting new product development and sustaining engineering of both materials and customer equipment

· Work effectively within a matrix managed organization

· After developing an understanding of the obstacles encountered, recreate those obstacles for illustration to the Research & Development organization to arrive at an expedited solution

· Develop, design, and run trials that validate the reliability of the equipment, materials, and their interactions in order to provide the most robust solution to our customers

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

 

· Bachelor of Science degree in packaging discipline.

· Preferably a minimum of two years professional experience

· Flexible travel domestically and internationally, up to 30%

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Experience creating data-driving reports to communicate technical ideas.
