We develop world-leading products used to design the latest high tech devices, such as cell phones, satellite systems, and other wireless communications devices. You will be located in the company headquarters in beautiful Santa Rosa, California approximately 50 miles north of San Francisco. Our team is responsible for developing high performance RF and mmWave Transceivers products.


Our products require software, electrical, and mechanical engineers to create a complete system. As a R&D Mechanical Engineer you will be part of a product development team that designs, develops, and tests RF and microwave test equipment. You will apply your mechanical engineering skills to all phases of the design process including conceptual design, thermal analysis, developing prototypes to demonstrate proof of concepts, working with suppliers and ensuring that your designs meet Keysight’s quality/regulatory requirements. Job Responsibilities


  • Lead the mechanical architecture and definition of new products and own all phases of the mechanical design process from concept to production ensuring that the product meets performance and manufacturability goals and reliability qualifications requirements.
  • Design of all mechanical components which include sheetmetal, custom machined, die casting, injection molding and rapid prototyping.
  • Develop thermal and mechanical models to solve challenging thermal issues.
  • Work within a multi-discipline project team to create new products and ensuring new designs meet both the Internal and Customer Requirements.
  • Work with Electrical design engineers on PC board layout and shielding.
  • Work with our internal and external manufacturing partners to prototype designs and bring them to manufacturing


Job Qualifications

  • BS or MS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with the ability to employ both a hands-on and analytic approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to multi-task in a very fast paced and demanding product development environment and balance engineering decisions with schedule, material cost and manufacturability.
  • A broad understanding of various mechanical fabrication processes (machining, die casting, plastic molding, sheet metal) and engineering materials.
  • Experience with Mechanical design tools (3D CAD, Structural Analysis, Thermal Analysis) 
  • Excellent written and verbal skills to be able to work across multiple functions and drive development.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and a dynamic environment
