Cyber Security Program Manager


Position Summary:

The Cyber Security Program Manager is responsible for leading security policy implementation and continuous improvement of the Harman Security Development Lifecycle (SDL). The Program Manager will build SDL components into HARMAN’s existing product development process and interface with Customer Program Engineering Teams to improve HARMAN’s overall security posture. 


The Cyber Security Program Manager will drive business-wide initiatives improving the overall security posture for Harman products.  This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated self-starter to add direct value while working with diverse projects, technical teams and customers around the world.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Cyber Security Program Manager will not have direct reports.  Leadership across a matrix organization is expected.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the the Automotive Cyber Security Center of Compentence (CoC) in creating templates, work instructions and training materials required as part of the Security Development Lifecycle (SDL).
  • Lead execution of strategic projects for the Security CoC within Harman Connected Car Division, including Incident Response, Vulnerability Management and Key Management System (KMS).
  • Create and maintain a HARMAN ISAC (Information Sharing and Analysis Center) to promote information sharing and analysis for cyber security internal to HARMAN and prepare write-ups for communication with Automotive ISAC when appropriate.
  • Act as Incident Response and Vulnerability Management Point of Contact for the Security CoC, to ensure that items requiring investigation are tracked and documented.
  • Lead SDL governance structure/framework activities within the Connected Car Division, with global analysis and continuous improvement for SDL within HARMAN.
  • Collect and maintain Security Maturity records from Security Architects globally, and publish a dashboard of maturity to be shared across the division on a quarterly basis.
  • Track budget for projects and create regular reports for management team
  • Support the process of security-requirements analysis for new business opportunities


The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • 5+ years related technical expereince
  • 5+ years in a leadership, program management, customer, supplier relationships
  • Scrum Master experience and CSM certification – an advantage
  • Extensive experience in consulting and/or client-facing role is preferred
  • Must be able to articulate vision and influence decision making outcomes with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and the customer.
  • Must have a "whatever-it-takes" attitude using diplomatic leadership skills within a collaborative teamwork environment to accomplish the necessary results.
  • Proven and effective communication, analytical, judgment, initiative and execution skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, work on multiple projects simultaneously, track responsibilities and meet deadlines.

  • An inquiring mind and an interest in learning.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel both domestic and abroad, 10-15%
  • Office location  - Novi, MI
