Records Management Technician

Position Summary:

 

The Records Management Technician is a 6-month temporary position.  The records technician will become a key member of the Records and Information Management (RIM) department and assist in the advancement of RIM initiatives.  The position will provide support for ongoing projects that include applying records management principles to unstructured data repositories, review and analyze physical records and update metadata in a records management database.

Job Duties:

  • Provide support for RIM projects by creating, updating and analyzing project information and reporting documentation.
  • Review, analyze and update information on records according to retention guidelines and standardized descriptions.
  • Support RIM team with daily operations.
  • Assist in searching for and scanning archival information requested in support of litigation.
  • Conduct research for team projects.
  • Provide oral and written communication to colleagues and clients

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Exhibit and maintain a high degree of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality
  • Attention to detail, accurate data entry and proofreading are required
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Excellent people skills with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well in both a team environment and independently with minimal supervision
  • College degree preferred; High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience with Google and MicroSoft Office Suite applications
  • Familiarity with Accutrac or other records management database preferred
