The Role

 

As the AVP, Broker Development you will provide leadership, direction & functional expertise on complex initiatives and develop and execute programs to support broker strategy. You will liaise with home office & field leaders to align current programs and develop future programs to support broker strategy, focusing on sales & profitability growth. You will evaluate results of various programs, including financial investments, and make recommendations to support growth goals. You will also lead Lincoln programs, while supporting additional broker strategy team initiatives

 

 

Functional Responsibilities

 

Program Management

  • Leads programs to support customer acquisition, retention & cross-sell objectives
  • Leads creation & implementation of new programs, systems, materials & training for the broker strategy
  • Translates broker needs to leaders & ensures coordination of development of solutions/tools
  • Aligns existing programs across the business and develops new programs to support broker strategy

Strategy Development and Execution

  • Develops & manages long-range visionary strategic plans for the broker strategy
  • Defines sales & marketing programs to attract broker partners and drive growth & retention
  • Defines service, underwriting, & marketing strategy for broker market; leads prioritization of local market opportunities & strategies
  • Guides efforts of home office team, provides oversight & strategic insight on business needs regarding broker strategy
  • Provides strategic direction to build and enhance the capability of broker strategy
  • Directs/executes approved strategy decisions and contributes to strategy creation

Organizational Effectiveness

  • Provides updates & recommendations to senior leadership based on findings
  • Directs and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within broker strategy
  • Provides subject matter expertise to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on complex projects and programs
  • Identifies and directs strategic process improvements that significantly improve quality across the team, department or business unit
  • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future strategies.

 

 

Requirements

 

Education

 

  • 4 Year/Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelors)

 

Experience

 

  • 10 + years of experience in relationship management, strategic partnerships, sales and/or other experience that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position required
  • Experience in Group Benefits required
  • A demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectations
  • Possesses a bias for action and avoids workplace distractions
  • Drives performance targets to completion

  • Travel Type : National Domestic
  • Travel Amount : up to 50%
