Division Information

PACCAR Leasing, a PACCAR division, was founded in 1980 to provide premium Kenworth and Peterbilt vehicles to leasing and rental customers. PacLease is one of the fastest-growing commercial truck leasing companies in the transportation industry. Requisition Summary

Develop and implement the company's used equipment sales plan and supporting policies and procedures to include disposition of used trucks; responsible for day-to-day administration, including establishing values and managing inventory.  Work with the company stores, customer direct operations, PRO Team, and franchises coordinating inspections and appraisals.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Solicit and close sales of used equipment held in PLC inventory.
  • Inspect and appraise used trucks as required. Establish asking prices and book values for used trucks where PacLease has residual responsibility.
  • Manage and coordinate the sales efforts for assigned inventory portfolio, including PacLease and franchise / dealer personnel.
  • Work with franchises and dealers who are interested in assisting in such areas as the sale of units, consignments, repairs, reconditioning or storage of PLC assets. Establish and maintain strong working relationships with PACCAR dealers.
  • Explore the options and viability of truck sales through means other than PACCAR dealers, such as exports, non-PACCAR dealers and auctions.
  • Ability to train staff to be more knowledgeable on data required to establish accurate equipment value.
  • Periodically, assist in the establishment of residual values, used trucks valuations, and market trends and value drivers.
  • Manage implementing the used equipment business, marketing plans, and policies in conjunction with other PACCAR divisions.
  • Work with PACCAR Financial’s Used Equipment Sales Department to ensure pricing and process consistency.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High integrity.
  • Demonstrated analytical ability and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and persistent.
  • Strong math, computer, interpersonal and communication skills.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five to eight years’ experience in used trucks (all models - retail and wholesale).
  • Market knowledge and expertise in determining used truck values and in estimating future values of equipment.
  • Thorough understanding of truck dealerships and dealer/OEM relationships.
  • Six Sigma Experience.

Education

  • BA/BS degree in finance, business or related field required.
  • MBA preferred.
