Job Summary

Entry-level research technical position.  Participates in a planned research project by performing research protocols and experimental procedures under direct supervision.  Exercises some discretion and judgment in execution and interpretation of experiments, and of data derived.

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs routine tests under the direction of principal investigator or supervisor
  • Performs research procedures on experimental samples as directed
  • Records and checks results for completeness and accuracy
  • Performs calculations and maintains appropriate log books and lab notebooks
  • Performs tasks that require familiarity with fundamental techniques and equipment
  • Assists with planning specific research protocols and procedures
  • Maintains office, lab area, reagents, supplies and equipment
  • Cleans and performs routine maintenance on lab equipment
  • Coordinates schedules of tests & procedures
  • Records results, organizes data and maintains lab notebook in an organized manner
  • Attends courses, seminars, and lab meetings to expand knowledge of research and laboratory techniques
  • Conducts literary searches as directed

Required Education and Experience

  • Associate’s degree, 9 - 18 months laboratory experience required
  • Relevant Internship experience considered

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Prior experience with cell culture, molecular biology, flow cytometry,
  • Some experience with basic/intermediate statistical analysis preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized
