We anticipate the needs of private businesses and focus on delivering innovative and effective solutions, while maintaining high quality service levels.

 

Our Audit practice in Vancouver is growing and we are seeking a qualified practitioner to support our Audit Private group. This is a role with significant potential for advancement as our practice continues to grow. As an Assistant Manager, Audit Private in Vancouver, you will leverage your educational background and skills as you develop an understanding of our clients' business and develop positive client relationships while working in a consensus-oriented environment.

 

You are expected to contribute to the firm's growth and development in a variety of ways, including:

  • Providing value added consultative solutions to our clients on current business and financial conditions;
  • Managing and/or assisting with the overall planning, pricing and execution of audit engagements
  • Tracking hours incurred on engagements relative to budget and proactively communicate potential overruns;
  • Identifying and communicating to partner/client in a proactive manner out of scope work and additional fees;
  • Planning and leading audit engagement teams while mentoring and coaching them to their highest potential;
  • Having an attention to detail to identify audit and/or accounting issues or irregularities including identifying significant risks and deficiencies in internal controls;
  • Ensuring the audit documentation reflect the appropriate business understanding, the audit strategy, and evidence to support findings and recommendations
  • Performing research and writing memos supporting complex accounting and audit positions
  • Drafting audit committee reports and financial statements
  • Assist in the recruitment and training of junior professionals
  • Being able to manage multiple audit engagements simultaneously, with regular updates to manager/partner and client as to progress and deadlines;
  • Building and helping managers, senior managers and partners lead cohesive and engaged teams;
  • Assisting the manager or senior manager, where appropriate in the management of the engagement quality and review process.

External Posting Qualifications

We are seeking the best and the brightest individuals. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following characteristics as job requirements:

 

  • Completion of an undergraduate degree in accounting, business administration or a related field with outstanding academic credentials is required;
  • Must be a Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant in good standing;
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in audit engagements;
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience relevant to project problem diagnosis, solution development, client communications, facilitation of decision making, documentation, managing client expectations and team leadership;
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience with one of the big four CPA firms is an asset;
  • Proven ability or experience to deliver the full cycle of project management accountabilities is required;
  • Demonstrable strong understanding of International Auditing Standards
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a second language is considered an asset

 

Salary range of CAD $62,000.00 to CAD $74,000.00
