Sr. Mobile Applications Engineer

As a Sr. Mobile Applications Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., in the Mobile Business Unit (MBU), you will provide technical expertise and value to customers who integrate company products with their own platforms. Specific focus will be given to Micron managed Flash solutions such as eMMC/eMCP/UFS, and your assignments include interpretations of designs, applications, and service information. You will typically interact with sales team, manufacturing, and marketing personnel; gathers information concerning the capabilities of company products. Part of your job will be to make or assist in technical presentations, demonstrations, and customer training. You may work through all phases of customer interaction including customer analysis, design implementation and product manufacturing. You will also represent the customer’s interests at technical meetings within the company.

  • Enable Support for New Memory Products in the Mobile Ecosystem
  • Evaluate system architecture gaps and identify potential solutions
  • Ensure Micron memory is compatible with processors and operating systems
  • Interact with processor and operating system vendors
  • Evaluate and Identify Competitor products
  • Research Competitor landscape
  • Document and communicate results
  • Create Application Notes, Datasheets and Technical Documentation to Support Design-in of Micron Memory Products
  • Identify opportunities to help customers with memory subsystem design
  • Document solutions in easy to understand method for global customer base
  • Provide Customers solutions for using Micron M-NAND products
  • Ensure use of sound design practices for memory subsystems
  • Support Technical Requirements of Micron’s Customers
  • Interpret data sheet for customers
  • Support customers on-site for troubleshooting and debugging purposes

 

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a BS degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
  • System level validation, qualification, or debug experience
  • High level of proficiency in English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Prior experience with Oscilloscopes, Logic analyzers, or bus/protocol analyzers
  • Experience with Linux or scripting (bash/python/perl)
  • Highly organized and self-motivated.
  • The ability to work with other engineers across multiple disciplines, as well as customers
  • Solid PC skills with basic level programming/scripting abilities
  • The ability to apply creative and inventive ideas to resolve difficult issues

 

Desired:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience with mobile handsets or mobile chipset vendors (preferably in the non-volatile Flash memory space)
  • Experience in the Android Mobile Ecosystem
