Regional Asset Manager- SLC, Utah #21922

General Purpose

Manages the capital expenditures for various electrical assets in the RMP service territory or region to ensure the safe, reliable, and cost effective operation of the electrical system. Establishes and implements business objectives, strategies, and plans.  Manages and allocates financial and/or employee resources. Implements and supports Company programs and policies focused mainly on the transmission and distribution component of the organization. Usually responsible for establishment and adherence to capital and expense budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with various departments throughout the company to develop and review appropriation requests (APRs).
  • Represent region interest in the capital project/program prioritization process.
  • Inform managers within region on approved projects, prioritization of capital work, and cash flow.
  • Guide asset management on implementation of capital programs within region.
  • Direct managers in region and provide support and training in completing large projects in the absence of project managers.
  • Direct reliability improvement teams in the development and implementation of improvement initiatives and prompt project completion.
  • Collaborate with the Property Department, Regional Business Mangers, Area Planners, Field Engineering, and the communities to plan future acquired substation sites and line routes to avoid delays in in-service dates.
  • Provide technical support to customer service for reliability concerns and other highly complex issues related to T&D Asset Management.
  • Train and mentor field managers and estimators on APR preparation and the capital project approval process.
  • Assist in the development and presentation of long term T&D infrastructure plans to communities and major stakeholders.
  • Develop semi-monthly activity reports on project status, activities, complex issues, meetings, training, and upcoming project and activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of seven years related experience.
  • Management skills including the ability to establish objectives, execute policy, monitor resources, and manage the development or implementation of a system, program, or process.
  • Leadership and teamwork skills to provide input into policy decisions and to mobilize resources to produce desired business results.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills to manage and motivate employees and use oral and written communication to communicate objectives and action plans.

Preferences

  • Previous experience in motivating employees with whom you do not have a direct reporting relationship.
  • Budget/forecast preparation and management experience.
  • Field Operations management experience.
  • Experience with SAP including APR preparation and presentation experience.
  • Community relations experience.
  • Knowledge of Company’s strategic plan, objectives for specific area, as well as Company policies, procedures, and practices and federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations.
