Supply Chain Analyst

Position Summary

Based at OPW-FMS Hodgkins, IL facility (Parent Company: Dover Fueling Solutions), the Supply Chain Analyst will take a leading role in driving strategy and behavior within the Procurement Team.  The ideal candidate is one that is self-driven, eager to look for opportunities of improvement, and happy to engage with the OWP-FMS supply chain partners to understand their manufacturing/supply capabilities/constraints.  Building upon existing internal processes and data, it will be critical to develop a well thought out plan for every part that supports the needs of the business.  Due to small size of the procurement Team at OPW-FMS, the ideal candidate will also need to comfortable supporting buying activities when necessary to adequately support production. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Create processes and methods to gather/analyze supply chain data
    • Identify risk areas or opportunities for improvement
    • Develop a corrective action plan to address the root cause
  • Develop a plan for every part based on:
    • Production usage rates
    • Supplier lead time (time to procure materials, manufacturing lead time)
    • Transit/delivery lead time
    • Identifying secondary supplier (back-up) options
  • Supplier management
    • Understand suppliers lead time drivers
    • Continuous dialog with critical component/long lead time items to avoid material shortage suppliers
    • Pricing negotiation
  • Additional sustaining responsibilities:
    • Placement of purchase orders
    • Scheduled delivery management
    • Corrective actions with suppliers to address quality issues
    • Manage part shortage communications with Production, among other business leaders within organization
  • Help foster trusting relationships with supply chain partners
  • Drive sourcing productivity projects
    • Sourcing select components from best value country locations
    • Changing suppliers for better quality, price, and/or delivery
  • Track KPIs and report on supply chain’s performance

Candidate Experience and Qualifications

  • B.S./B.A. Degree
  • Proven experience as a Supply Chain Analyst, Buyer, Logistics Coordinator or similar role
  • Familiarity with supply chain processes (e.g. Inventory planning, warehouse management)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of tools, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
