Job Title: Serious Game Development Summer Intern

 

The Energy Systems Group works with sponsors within the Departments of Defense, Homeland Security, and Energy to develop transformative energy system architectures, test beds, and innovative prototypes to provide advanced solutions to the nation's energy needs and to improve the security and resilience of the nation. 

 

The Energy Group seeks a summer intern in the Computer Science and Software Engineering field to assist with the development of an interactive simulator for interdependent regional electrical and natural gas infrastructure. Primary responsibilities of the candidate will include working with the Energy Group staff to develop and integrate a networked, two player interface using serious-gaming concepts.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience with front-end or back-end web development languages and frameworks such as JavaScript, React.js, Node.js, PHP, Django, etc.
  • Experience with video games.
  • Prefer candidates with a portfolio such as open source development, Hackathons, and/or Game Jams.
