Privacy & Security Analyst

The Privacy and Audit Analyst will be responsible for privacy breach investigations, audits of access and activity within computer systems, and all related administrative tasks. The Analyst will gather details of alleged privacy and policy violations from staff and patients, create processes and execute computer audits, evaluate results, perform risk assessments, and document all findings. The Analyst will implement processes and perform duties necessary to conform to requirements of HIPAA, state privacy laws, and other applicable requirements and policies. The Analyst must be knowledgeable of data security concepts and Carilion policies.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree required.

Experience: Minimum of one year privacy/information security, compliance, risk management, patient relations or applicable experience.  Healthcare experience preferred.

Licensure/Certifications/Registration: Certification in Healthcare Privacy (CHPC) required at time of hire or within 18 months of the date of hire.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Excellent oral and written communications skills. Demonstrated knowledge of providing adult education, business practices, with ability to work with minimal supervision, and adapt quickly to change.  Skilled in use of personal computers to aid productivity and enhance output.
