Pricing Analyst

As the Pricing Analyst, you will analyze the business needs of the company and individual terminal locations to create and maintain companywide pricing matrices with the input of operations and sales to enhance profitable pricing structures for our customers and for the company. You will also conduct and review market research that supports the commercial and operational strategy. This role is critical in positioning XPO for long-term success.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Provide daily pricing to the sales team and/or directly to the customers
  • Maintain XPO pricing structure, develop pricing strategies and propose improvements based on commercial analysis of the current structure, customers and company need
  • Ensure timely retrieval, quotation and filing of rates for internal and external customers and timely handling of bid/tender completion deadlines
  • Work proactively to develop the best applicable rates for given corridors and accounts
  • Review and investigate accounts that do not comply to target payouts; make recommendations and implement corrective action; communicate with customers and sales/operations staff to resolve pricing issues
  • Monitor competitors’ pricing structures to maintain XPO’s viability in the market places
  • Review customer contract and bid requirements and escalate exceptions to ensure legal and regulatory requirements will be met
  • Ensure commercial agreement is documented and communicated to customer
  • Obtain capacity commitments from network
  • Negotiate dray rates as necessary to support an assigned request
  • Negotiate customer-specific rail rates to support bid activity

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • 2 to 3 years of relevant industry experience
  • Proficiency in Windows applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and Truck+
  • Demonstrated ability to create complex formulas in MS Excel; create queries in company software applications
  • Ability to perform complex analysis of data, processes, policies, procedures and/or systems

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience
  • Develops insightful, value-added and actionable analyses with detailed explanations regarding drivers of those results
