Characterization Engineer

As a Component Validation Engineer you will be a lead voice of concern and praise for Micron’s newest memory designs. In this role, you will develop and leverage your technical skills including programming, data analysis, architecture debug and process. Your technical expertise will be sought after by Micron's executive and engineering teams, as you will be the subject matter expert. You will use your expertise to develop innovative methods to verify the world’s newest memory technologies and feature sets. You will lead technical discussions with other global experts as you communicate your discoveries. Successful candidates will be highly motivated and able to self-direct.


Responsibilities include and are not limited to:


  • Develop ATE code to characterize/validate the device
  • Debug and identify root cause for failures within either the Characterization/Validation test code or hardware
  • Analyze the characterization/validation data and feedback results to PE and Design – with emphasis on any parameter(s) that are marginal or failing spec


Successful candidates will have the following:


  • Experience with Perl, Unix, Python, C or C++
  • Experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) – Nextest, Teradyne, Advantest, Verigy, etc.
  • Advance understanding of memory architectures
  • 3+ years of experience in customer labs (Preferred).



A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
