SAP Concur, the most profitable and fastest growing Software as a Service provider in the world, is looking for a Senior Service Management / Systems Engineer to support our Allen, TX area location. As part of a global Service Management team, you will be focused on the technologies behind SAP Concur’s Cloud Services.


This is a fast-growing global team with the ability to make significant difference to SAP Concur’s service offerings by having a strong influence to impact performance, stability, availability and architecture.


The right person will be highly passionate about the technology, have an analytical mindset, and have experience working with a wide range of platforms, with a deep understanding of web architectures. At SAP Concur you will work with many technologies, with emphasis on Linux, MySQL, Apache Tomcat, F5, Puppet, git, Amazon Web Services.


Position Description:

What You’ll Be Doing:


  • Contribute to design and architecture decisions about how SAP Concur delivers high availability services to customers
  • Actively participate on internal projects and collaborate with non-technical colleagues in a dynamic team.
  • Troubleshoot issues to perform root cause analysis
  • Perform system & application maintenance, configuration maintenance & release management
  • Monitor and measure systems for performance, load & capacity planning
  • Be on call & participate in Incident Management, Resolution and Root Cause Analysis
  • Interact with a variety of SAP Concur and client resources to identify issues and solutions
  • Work with 3rd party vendors to manage the identification and resolution of vendor product issues
  • Undertake day to day service requests for all applications hosted by SAP Concur
  • Perform training, design and knowledge transfer sessions
  • Participate in the interview process


Position Requirements:

What we are looking for:


  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 5 plus years of application support
  • Considerable experience in Linux system administration, preferably RHEL or CentOS
  • Scripting experience in BASH (ability to script in Python and/or PowerShell looked upon favorably)
  • Hands on experience with Apache, Apache Tomcat
  • Strong network troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with configuration management tools, such as Puppet
  • Experience with orchestration/automation software such as Jenkins
  • Strong understanding of ITIL and Agile
  • Familiarity with Jira or other workflow software
  • Demonstrate proactive approach to detecting and resolving issues
  • Can adapt to new, last minute, unplanned and difficult assignments
  • Requires little supervision to complete day to day activities
