**This Opportunity**

WSP is currently initiating a search for a **Full-Time Assistant Project Manager** for our Florida Turnpike Enterprise Construction and Materials Engineering Management Consultant Program in the Turnpike's **Pompano, Florida** office.

**Your Impact**

+ Assist the project control manager in the execution of the management plan for assigned projects

+ Establish durations for tasks derived from quantities and production rates

+ Participate in the development of basic schedules to establish the estimated duration for construction works.

+ Help coordinate and manage the project from inception to completion

+ Review project designs and contributes ideas for cutting costs

+ Carry out daily operational tasks in an effective and timely manner

+ Facilitate communications between office and field staff

+ Track and directly report project status updates to project manager

+ Help problem-solve issues and suggest ways to improve the project

+ Assist scheduling department with phase/activity durations as required

+ Assure all review comments are properly entered in ERC

+ Assure design files can be utilized by electronic grade control equipment

+ Coordinates specifically with Turnpike Utility Coordinator on preconstruction versus during construction (potentially phased) utility relocations

+ Perform field review with plans in hand @ 30 and 60% to identify potential conflicts with existing site conditions

+ Perform Quantity take-offs as required for plan quantity verification

+ Provide miscellaneous support to the Turnpike

+ Review former lessons learned for inclusion in current design plans

+ Review Pay Items for completeness and applicability on 90%, 100% and final plans

+ Reviews 30%, 45% MOT/Drainage, 60%, 90%, 100% and final plans for constructability issues, potential conflicts, and incorporation of previous electronic review comment (ERC) responses into subsequent submittals

+ Schedule personal attendance at construction sites for any special or unique project issues

+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

+ Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

**Who You Are**

**Required Qualifications**

+ High School Diploma

+ Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience

+ FDOT Intermediate MOT Certification

+ Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing) and to large groups of people

+ Ability to read, interpret and understand FDOT plans & specifications.

+ Ability to utilize MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).

+ Knowledge of engineering concepts, terminology, principles and techniques
+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

+ Must successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle screening.

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
