A vacancy exists within the Future Toyota Department, reporting to the Systems Manager, based on-site in Johannesburg. The position is a technical advisory role providing capacity analytics and planning, infrastructure and network advice to the Future Toyota team.

The successful candidate will be required to work closely with the TSAM Infrastructure team who supports the current and future growth requirements for Toyota South Africa.

The candidate will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (throughout the entire TSAM business, Manufacturing, Sales & Marketing, TFS, Lexus and Hino & Suppliers) and the dealer network.

Key Responsibilities

Research, plan and assist in defining and aligning Future Toyota needs to the TSAM IT infrastructure stack.
Assessing business requirements or new projects and vetting specifications for suitable integrated efficient solutions.
Working with IT Infrastructure and relevant vendors to define a concept design and a detailed design for each solution.
Identifying best practices and cost-effective solutions for business requests or new projects and aligning with the TSAM IT Infrastructure team.
Assist and advise in planning network growth for customer-facing systems together with the IT infrastructure team.
Understand and support application development environment and the direct impact on infrastructure resource requirements.
Analyse and forecast Dealer network connectivity requirements based on historical trends and new product delivery plans:
Monitoring current network bandwidth fluctuations for customer and dealer-facing applications and reporting anomalies.
Capacity planning and impact for new Future Toyota team projects.
Propose practical solutions for issues/anomalies identified.
Ensuring security and auditing compliance by raising detailed service requests for Infrastructure related change requests.
Standardise Future Toyota business partners and Dealer’s connectivity mechanisms to TSAM
Work within the scope of TSAM’s current WAN Service provider – Vodacom

Perform end-user support for Dealers and problem resolution by:
Respond to and support Dealers and Vendors that TSAM connects to for 3rd party integration and who experience issues with this integration.
Liaising with the TSAM infrastructure team to coordinate and deploy these specific changes requested from Dealers and Vendors.

Scoping and monitoring the current technical landscape (Storage, memory, processing, licensing, databases, App servers) to ensure efficient operations and proper sizing for the future applications:
Use Dynatrace or other tools to monitor the environment, identify issues and propose solutions to resolve these.
Accurate measurement of new application deployment impact and share these timeously with TSAM Infrastructure team.
Accurate measurement of existing usage and confirm this against original planned capacity and highlight issues timeously with TSAM Infrastructure team.
Assist TSAM Infrastructure team in capacity planning and growth requirements for the Future Toyota landscape.
Adequate testing in QA environment to ensure smooth production deployment.
Engaging with relevant stakeholders by:
Regularly meeting with IT colleagues to identify, agree and prioritise any IT related change points and priorities.
Regularly meeting with the IT Infrastructure team to report progress, raise issues and brainstorm solutions.
Qualifications and Experience Required for Job


Relevant qualification: Inclusive of all infrastructure elements (Storage, servers, networks, security & virtualisation)


10 years of general work experience with at least 8 years of relevant experience in the industry. Experience in Networks, servers, storage, databases, virtualisation and web app Servers is essential.
