About the Role

The Network and Security Engineer  is responsible for managing and coordinating the design, implementation, ongoing maintenance and security of all data and security infrastructure within the NRMA Group of companies. Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Design, plan, implement, secure and maintain corporate data and security network services, its components and associated infrastructure
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, reports and records regarding voice and data solutions
  • Manage, maintain and configure the day to day network operations across the group as well as being a point of escalation, with Lvl2/3 troubleshooting and fault rectification of high level technical issues
  • Suggest and advise on maximising network performance and security risk and capacity plan where needed.
  • Testing, implementing, monitoring and tuning data software/hardware to ensure optimum systems performance and highlight potential issues
  • Act as an interface between the business and suppliers, carriers and vendors regarding high level technical issues and carrier billing
  • Managing the analysis of network traffic data and providing recommendations on performance improvements to data and security infrastructure
  • Analysing tender, supervising acceptance tests and commissioning communication systems and equipment
  • Participation in an on call rotation roster. 
  • About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or Engineering discipline
  • Strong Routing and switching fundamentals
  • Must have experience supporting SD-WAN infrastructure
  • Experience with cloud proxy and Zero Trust Arch.
  • Multi-vendor Firewall experience
  • Solid understanding of emerging technologies in the network and security sphere and their potential business & commercial application
  • Strong people skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex information and excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills 
  • Results driven with the ability to take accountability, be resourceful and work independently
