About the opportunity

The School of Psychology are welcoming applications for a SeniorClinical Psychologist  to leadthe clinical service offerings for the GambleAware services across Sydney Central,Western Sydney and Blue Mountains, and South West Sydney as part of Australia’sonly university-based gambling treatment clinic.

Therole is to lead and manage an experienced team of clinicians, includingclinical psychologists, financial counsellors, community engagement officers,and intake officers in addition to overseeing clinical interns, and workingwith the Director and Clinic Manager to oversee the Gambling Treatment andResearch Clinic (GTRC) treatment services and professional development.

Workingclosely with the Clinic Director Professor Sally Gainsbury and Clinic Manager, the successfulcandidate will be required to oversee provision of clinical services, clinicalsupervision, training, and clinical governance oversight within the GTRC, aswell as providing leadership to other clinicians.

Thesuccessful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinaryteam of researchers conducting clinically-oriented research evaluating practiceoutcomes and developing innovative clinical offerings including educationalmodules and digital stepped care interventions to prevent and reduce gamblingharms.

Gamblingtreatment experience is not essential and there is no travel required for thisrole. We would consider Part-Time for the right candidate and flexible workarrangements including work-from-home options will be available.

Your keyresponsibilities will be to:

· supervise clinicians, including clinical intern students, in line withgood clinical practice and ongoing professional development

· work as part of the leadership team with the Director and Clinic Managerto oversee the strategic direction, delivery of services, and contribute toreporting requirements

· work with a degree of autonomy in promoting the objectives and activitiesof the GTRC in the areas of clinical assessment, interventions, and protocols

· provide clinical advice where required to GTRC colleagues and interns

· contribute to professional development and training

· contribute to community engagement plans and provide oversight, supportand guidance to the Community Engagement team.

About you

· registration as a psychologist with the Australian Health PractitionerRegulation Agency (AHPRA)

· endorsements as a clinical psychologist with AHPRA

· certifications as a Psychology Board Approved Supervisor with thePsychology Board of Australia

· demonstrated experience in the supervision, training, mentoring andperformance management of clinical psychology interns and staff

· experience in theprovision of CBT

· superior knowledge ofclinical practices, including an understanding of Good Clinical Practiceguidelines, and an ability to apply quality control procedures

· excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills withsound negotiating and conflict resolution skillsand a demonstrated level of tact and discretion in dealing with day-to-dayoperational matters

· leadership experience and demonstrated astute judgement and a capacityto make high level decisions and recommendations where diverse interests arepresent research.
