About the Opportunity
ARTC, through the Rail Systems group, is going through a change to embrace and apply Systems methods to the ways of working. Within Future Capability, the team is on the forefront of driving the changes and applying new methods within Rail Systems to set ARTC up for long term success. Future Capability takes ownership of the initiatives and implements them successfully & pragmatically.
Manage the successful execution of Future Capability activities and projects towards the benefit of rail systems and ARTC. The role will oversee, drive and manage significant internal and external teams to drive towards and set rail systems up for long term success through the delivery of defined, bounded scopes of activities.
The position has flexibility with location from one of our major office locations being Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle or Brisbane.
Manage projects and activities in the Future Capability stream to successful completion and ensuring benefits realisation
Apply modern project management techniques to initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control and close projects, including reporting and development of appropriate project management artifacts
Ensure risk, schedule, budget and scope are appropriately defined, managed and tracked over the duration of the project
Manage contracts and subcontractors to deliver scopes of work to the required standard on time and budget
Participate in and lead engagement forums towards the delivery of project objectives
Manage quality assurance and coordination of ARTC responsible services to ensure works are consistent with ATMS plans, specifications, external and internal stakeholders' needs
Ensure collaborative, and outcome orientated values and behaviours occur, towards the agreed objectives
Work with the rail systems team in situations of uncertainty to derive and achieve best for program outcomes
About You
To ensure success in this position, applicants will be able to demonstrate:
Tertiary qualification or certification in a business, engineering or project management field or equivalent industry experience
Experience in the delivery of integrated solutions through inter-organisational relationships, drawing on multiple independent organisations
Comfort in working in undefined work structures, with a desire to resolve challenges therein
Experience leading projects within a changing project environment
Extensive experience in working on Technology orientated Programs of work, which drive organisational change
Experience working with contractors/suppliers
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent stakeholder management with the ability to build relationships, empower others and work collaboratively across functions and teams
Knowledge and practical experience of modern program and project management techniques including the development of a project from the concept and business case phase through to project completion and realisation of objectives
