The programme will support your career development into a permanent role with SSE that reflects your experience and passion.Our Trainee Quantity Surveyor/Contract Manager programme lasts for 4 years and combines academic study with work-based experience. You will have the opportunity to study towards RICS or CIPS Membership .Studying for the RICS Membership requires satisfying an Assessment of Professional Competence (APC). When not studying, you will spend the balance of your time on a variety of project-based work for the SSE Thermal Procurement and Commercial team supporting a range of development, construction, and operational activities for our growing low carbon power generation plant. SSE Thermal is currently developing new Carbon Capture and Storage Power Stations, with plans to expand the portfolio into hydrogen Power Stations and Hydrogen Storage projects amongst others. Placements can include working in other areas of the Thermal business including Finance, Engineering, and Development teams. During these placements you will be working alongside experienced SSE staff. Throughout your placement you will be expected to follow a RICS approved APC Candidate Training Plan that would be developed with you and contribute to your requirements to satisfy the APC. On completion of the training programme you will be offered a permanent position with the SSE Thermal Procurement & Commercial team.You'll have a minimum of a 2:2 degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Commercial Management or Procurement.What do I need to join?At SSE we're proud to celebrate difference.
