The Project
CPB Contractors, as part of a joint venture with United Group, has been selected to deliver the surface civil and alignment works for the Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport rail link between Orchard Hills and the new Western Sydney Airport Station.
This $600M project encompass the civil infrastructure necessary for the construction of the track which includes:
• 3.4 kms of elevated viaduct at Orchard Hills and Luddenham
• 6.7kms of earthworks for track formation
• A 190M long rail bridge over the new M12 motorway
• A 20m long bridge within the Airport
• Temporary and permanent roads
• Bulk Earthworks for the stabling and maintenance facility site.
The SCAW project will provide the platform for future track, new stations and various temporary and permanent roads that will connect Western Sydney Airport to the surrounding suburbs and ultimately to the entire NSW rail network. Works are scheduled to commence in the second half of 2022 and be completed in 2024

The opportunity

The Public Affairs and Events Manager will play an integral role in the communications and events function delivering the iconic SCAW project, by providing leadership and strategic advice on communication and engagement activities.
Your Role Will Include
Leading the communications and events team
Producing high quality digital resources, website, social media, display, print, electronic and broadcast material
Managing photography, filming, animations and public information specifications
Managing the media milestone and event plan and all site visits
Collaborating with Sydney Metro on photography and events
Providing media and issues management support to Sydney Metro.
About You
Hold a recognised and appropriate public affairs qualification
Ten years of active industry experience and demonstrated competence in public affairs management (with a background in journalism or public relations)
Experience in developing and implementing leading edge communications and engagement strategies and liaising with stakeholders to build trust, honesty and reliability
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of conversing effectively at all levels
Strong knowledge of appropriate communication tools (presentation material, media releases) to convey key messages effectively and suitable for their intended audiences
Construction industry experience will be highly regarded
