Our Research and Development function is responsible for the identification and delivery of new products and processes, enabling the business to satisfy customer demands, access new markets, and drive profitable growth.

We’re now looking for an Advanced Researcher to join our Materials and Products team. The Materials and Products team consists of scientists and engineers who are responsible for developing new functional glazing for the automotive and architectural business units. As an Advanced Researcher, you will have responsibility for full product realisation including the performance of a glazing in terms of its optical, spectral, and functional properties, its mechanical integrity, and its long-term durability. It’s a hands-on role encompassing product testing and process development where team members develop prototypes in collaboration with suppliers, partners, and other business functions.

It's a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to have the opportunity to develop knowledge of critical technologies for glazing products. You will also be expected to manage packages of technical work on existing products and lead to project management roles as you build experience.

We’re looking for someone who holds an undergraduate degree in physics, chemistry, materials science or similar - a postgraduate degree is advantageous. You’ll have experience of working in a manufacturing environment with involvement in product realisation, an understanding of product failure mechanisms would be highly desirable.

You’ll be able to demonstrate a strong attention to detail and seek to assure customer satisfaction. You’ll be an innovative, self-motivated individual who can apply scientific knowledge and methodology to technical problems. You’ll take personable responsibility and ownership for achieving results and objectives and have core skills in IT and communication.

Knowledge of glass products or processing is desirable - full training will be provided.
