Responsibilities

Location: Abington, PA, with some floating to Willow Grove.

Primary Function:

Under the general supervision of the Office Manager/Office Coordinator/Physician provides clinical care to patients in the physician’s office. Provides care to patients ranging in age from 0 to 100+.

Essential Functions:

  • Meets all standards of the Patient Satisfaction Initiative Criteria in order to make AMH the hospital of choice for patients and employees.
  • Screen patient telephone calls regarding medical problems; prioritizes and relays appropriate information to patients, staff and physicians to ensure the appropriate interaction and departmental flow between patients, physicians and staff.
  • Assists physicians with examinations, various diagnostic procedures and performs EKG and venipuncture/injections in the office, using appropriate skills to provide quality care to the patients.
  • Initiate and perform patient education and maintain materials, organize and generate recall system to ensure patient adherence to physician protocol and to ensure patients are provided high quality services.
  • Orders clinical supplies, to maintain inventory, to facilitate smooth operation of the office.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Experience: 

  • 2 – 3 years medical office experience strongly preferred.  One year in venipuncture preferred.


Education and Training: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Educational training in Medical Office Assistant or related medical field required. 
  • LPN – Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing.


License Certification and Registration: 

  • LPN licensed in the Commonwealth of PA.


Other Requirements: 

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Medical terminology and familiarity with medical office procedure.


Conditions of Employment
