Tens of technology, business and operations teams across Amazon partners with TFS and leverages TFS product suite and processes for financial automation. While the products and systems have evolved over years, the documentation hasn't kept pace with this evolution. This is where this role and position comes in.
Who are you
TFS is looking for a Technical Writer who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and has a strong content and technical writing background. As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality knowledge base content for technical and non-technical audiences. You will define and own the knowledge center strategy for TFS that will work best for our tech partners and non-tech users. You will work with our subject matter expects to create knowledge articles for our customers. You will continuously seek customer feedback and improve the knowledge management strategy to enhance customer experience.
Key job responsibilities
. Write and edit end-user and internal-user knowledge base content describing TFS Services and troubleshooting processes.
. Collaborate with TFS Engineers to optimize and maintain internal and external content for usability and accessibility, while maintaining a high bar for quality.
. Work directly with Product, development teams and stakeholders to produce world-class knowledge base articles.
. Work collaboratively with internal and external global stakeholders to conceptualize and develop content that enables TFS partners.
. Create, maintain, and edit knowledge base articles that are used by a wide audience with varying skill levels.
. Manage all aspects of the documentation process from planning to content maintenance.
. Be capable of juggling multiple complex documentation tasks with little or no oversight, while also working effectively within a documentation team to support varying workloads.
. Communicate clearly and effectively to a wide range of target audiences, including technical operations and development teams.
. To be successful you'll need to have proven experience with writing user documentation and leading projects.
. Participate in process and system walk throughs as needed.
. Conduct technical reviews of documentation to ensure accuracy.
A day in the life
You will own one specific TFS vertical and be responsible for working with the product teams to track documentation timelines and milestones, call out risks, set expectations, and report on progress to your manager and team along with stakeholders. You will author your content, send out for reviews, and work with developers and PMs to write and test the standard operating procedures. You will help out with other projects as needed as business priorities change. You will be responsible for identifying process and writing improvement opportunities to raise the bar for our audience.
Basic Qualifications :
. 3+ years of experience as a technical editor or writer of technical documentation working with style guides.
. Experience working on technical content for developers, DevOps professionals, and end users.
. Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders to define and manage terminology and content.
. Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
. Exceptional writing, line editing and copy-editing skills.
. Application must include a portfolio of links to writing samples that demonstrate your experience, verbal facility.
. Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced, demanding environment with competing deadlines.
. Excellent communication skills.
