Sales Engineer Enterprise

Position Summary:As a Sales Engineer, this individual will be primarily responsible for working closely with the Channel Account Directors on the development of Ribbon’s business efforts into the Canadian enterprise market space. The objective will be to break into accounts where opportunities exist across the board including Tier 2 and 3 Service Providers, Large Enterprises, Channels as well as the Utility markets with Ribbon’s suite of products. Responsibilities
  • Provide deep level technical assistance to the local Channel Account Directors for the targeted accounts.
  • Oversee all Pre and some Post-sales efforts within the targeted accounts.
  • Provide technical support in sales presentations, quotation creation and future design activities.
  • Work with the Channel Account Directors to identify revenue opportunities within the targeted account base.
  • Coordinate technical support & demonstrations to ensure that Ribbon solutions are promoted and selected.
  • Develop and present product and application solutions to potential customers.
  • Respond to technical questions, bids, RFQ’s, RFI's, RFP's.
  • Provide high-level network architecture support and work with the Ribbon Professional Services team to validate customer’s proposed architecture.
  • Coordinate and lead customer lab trials and proof of concepts working with cross-functional resources to demonstrate technology solutions that win business.
  • Interface with PLM and Marketing to review and proactively plan for customer requirements.
  • Provide answers to customer enquiries concerning product capabilities and advantages (i.e. become the customers trusted advisor).
  • Interface with customers, PLM, and engineering as issues or product requests arise, monitor bug fixes and track feature development.
  • Ensure that the relationship between Ribbon and the targeted accounts is extremely strong and proactively look for ways to grow Ribbon business.
  • Conduct on-going technical presentations to various organizations within the targeted accounts to uncover future opportunities and to strengthen the business relationship.
  • Identify and qualify new opportunities and to win new business and grow the footprint within the identified location.
Skills & Experience
  • BASc degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • Proven Sales/SE experience in the Telecom industry with a proven track record of selling to Service Providers, Large Enterprises and/or channels.
  • Pre-Sales oriented Engineer with an emphasis on Telecommunications Technical background of the following:
    • Session Border Control
    • IP networking
    • Unified Communications, including:
      • MS Teams Directing Routing and Operator Connect
      • Zoom
      • Ring Central
    • Customer facing experience
  • Knowledge of local Telecom & Datacom market requirements.
  • Experience in communication/networking market, in-depth knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with customers at all levels.
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual as well as across multiple teams.
  • Excellent Communications and presentation skills.
  • Multi-tasking skills to be able to manage multiple projects in parallel with problem solving acumen.
  • Ability to cultivate and manage excellent working relationships with the various internal organizations, from Product owners through to Professional Service and Project Management.
  • Has a passion for quality and attention to detail.
