Inventory Manager

Job Description:

The Inventory Manager will be responsible for owning all end-to-end inventory management, ordering, demand planning, forecast planning, and reporting, all aligning to pre-determined company tasks and KPIs. You will utilize data to analyze sales trends to forecast and support retail and e-commerce inventory needs throughout the supply chain. The Inventory Manager will work to stand up new processes across the organization that fall under the inventory roles and responsibilities and further the company fulfillment, offerings, and capabilities as well.

The Inventory Manager will report directly to the Director of Merchandising and Partnerships with a dotted line to Finance. In addition, you will work closely across various key partners and stakeholders in the organization from finance, supply chain to e-commerce and store operations in addition to our vendor partners to strategize and execute tasks.

Demand Planning, Ordering, Forecasting, and Replenishment

• Partner with both internal partners and vendors to secure inventory for expected forecast and sell-thru goals, with incremental focus on highly allocated or constrained product and priority items across the company.

• Manage inventory flow and replenishment to optimize retail in-stocks, on-hands, on-order to ensure inventory is in arena at the right time to support sales forecasts, all within a predetermined OTB budget.

• Manage new product launches, set quantities, and optimally allocate to stores pending high/med/low volume arenas.

• Be able to analyze real-time sales data and trends to react quickly if action needs to be taken.

• Leverage data and both internal/external partners to put together key inventory financial metrics such as average inventory, receipt forecasts, EOH monthly/quarterly goals. Be able to clearly communicate these inputs to Finance and Merchandising partners.

• Partner closely with Merchandising & Finance to put together weekly/monthly receipt needs. Manage inventory costing & prepare monthly inventory close reports.

Reporting & Process Optimization

• Stand up processes and best methods for demand planning, forecasting, ordering, and replenishment.

• Identify process gaps across inventory management and put forth sustainable and robust solutions.

• Create weekly reporting to inform both internal and external partners of inventory status across items, brands, and categories, as well as identify opportunities or issues that require additional support.

Vendor Management & Inventory Reconciliations

• Collaborate with vendor partners to ensure inventory demand is forecasted, orders are tracked and delivered on time.

• Hold vendors accountable to their respective SLAs such as on-time shipments, full delivered of original or revised order quantities. Establish performance review cadences monthly/quarterly.

• Identify and resolve order inconsistencies in a timely manner, including price, inventory, and quantity discrepancies.

Qualifications:

• BA/BS in Business, Supply Chain, Finance or Retail Merchandising; 3-5 years of applicable work experience in a retail setting or in similar business setting.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

• Proficiency with MS Office Suite and other PC applications

• Assertive with strong initiative and willing to learn and grow in a fast paced, ever changing retail environment.

• Demonstrated organizing and prioritizing skills, attention to detail, and initiative in completing tasks in a timely and reliable manner.

• Strong communication skills to support teamwork, as well as contact with stores, vendors, and merchants.
