Established in 1929, Bristile Roofing is one of the countrys largest suppliers and installers of concrete and ceramic roof tiles, offering a comprehensive range of more than 40 colours and seven profiles. Over recent years, the company has expanded to include metal roofing, fascias and gutters together with a range of innovative roofing solutions including solar and batteries.
Were seeking a self-motivated and confident Despatch and Inventory Manager to join our Bristile Roofing team in Dandenong VIC . Reporting to the plant Manager, you will be responsible to manage the day-to-day operations of the Bristile Roofing VIC despatch department and yard activities to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of product to customers in line with business objectives and customer expectations. This will include adherence to all relevant company policies and procedures including but not limited to Chain of responsibility, Stock Control, Quality and Safety.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Provide leadership to yard and despatch employees in achieving safe workplace practices, efficient loading and unloading of goods, providing efficient yard layout and housekeeping and compliance with all relevant policies and procedures to ensure business and customer objectives are met and exceeded
Ensure that all stock is securely stored, and all dispatches and receipts are accounted for. All dispatches are appropriately and securely recorded. Ensure the integrity and accuracy of all stock movements. Ensure that all stock received, shipped and dumped is appropriately recorded in the maximise / JDE system. This requires the QTY to be correctly recorded and that the physical product received/shipped or dumped exactly matches the details of the product in the system.
Manage stock levels, inventory and monthly stocktakes this includes random cycle checks, daily brakeage reports, production stock is checked daily, quality control and realising of stock once testing is done and product quantities are maintained at safe operating levels.
Manage yard staff, subcontractors oversee training of staff, ensure labour costs are consistent with yard work carried out, all required site audits and staff toolbox talks are carried out and implement and manage a fatigue management policy.
Ensure product is delivered in full and on time using efficient load scheduling, ensure yard is maintained in bays and a safe organised manner and liaise with transport companies on deliveries
Maintain a close working relationship with suppliers, contracting, production and sales departments, oversee pallet management for factory, returns and repairs, the unloading process of imported product containers and production rumble waste pickups and ensure yard location listing is updated and distributed regularly
Ensure compliance with Brickworks Load Restraint Guidelines, and relevant State National Heavy Vehicle Laws and Regulations.
Manage Driver Contracts in line with Brickworks Policies and Guidelines and ensure service levels achieve successful business outcomes
Strong knowledge of transport and Chain of Responsibility State and National Heavy Vehicle RegulationsStrong Microsoft suite of products Transport database management systemsStrong skill in communication, leadership and compliance Adequate skill in problem solving Strong ability to lead, engage team and drive continuous improvements to achieve outcomes Forklift Licence
